goal
Select a site from the UNESCO World Heritage Site program and develop a new brand identity including a minimum of 15 deliverables.

project outline
Create an identity system for the site’s brand including a mark, logotype, color system, typography, and a fifth element. Using the identity system print collateral included a letterhead, three full-page advertisements in The New Yorker Magazine, site signs in Chinese, French, Spanish, Russian, English, Arabic, and Portuguese, and a booklet containing information about the site and the UNESCO program.

3D deliverables include a three-dimensional site sign, a delivery van, and strategic merchandise concepts that could be used to promote the site.

Finally, digital collateral include a website design as well as a mobile app application of any of the identity system elements.

The goal for the advertisements was to develop a showcase series for a collaboration between The Cultural Landscapes of Sintra and the MFA.

A 31 page booklet designed to be given at the various Sintra site locations. A video of the handcut and bound prototype can be found here

The concept for this site sign was inspired by the whimsical nature of Pena Palace and the childlike wonder that many visitors express when visiting Sintra’s sites. This 3D model showcases how children would be able to play and climb within the structure while their parents read more about the site which are displayed on signs in seven different languages.
